Multi-divergent Trauma Recovery
Multi-divergent refers to the concepts like NeuroQueer by Nick Walker, and Neurodiversity, two terms that demonstrate how incredibly common it is to be queer, gender non-conforming, neurodivergent, and diagnosed with a plethora of labels over the years, whether by clinicians or yourself.
Complex trauma and co-occuring diagnoses like eating disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders are commonly assigned and experienced by all sorts of neurodivergent folks across the lfiespan.
I work with young folks and adults to help them find their way back to themself and out of the endless abiss of exhaustion, despair, confusion and hurt.
Your light is needed in the world, as tropey as that is.
But humor and camp are essential ingredients in good therapy.
Especially when we’re going deep with somatic trauma work.
Igniting Hope
After a lifetime of chronic stress, masking, missed or misdiagnoses, complex traumas, and seemingly endless relational ruptures and overwhelm, it’s no wonder multidivergent people feel defeated.
Our work together starts here in the present moment.
Shaping Motivation
Understanding why you’re here - in therapy and even life, a an essential piece for breaking the chains of stuck change. Having a vision for this therapeutic chapter and even life, is the anchor for our ongoing, usually long-term, work together.
I help you discover and clarify this throughout the process.
Empowering Change
Focusing on strengths, resources and curiosity each week in therapy, and applying the concepts and tools learned to your outside world not only strengthens hope and motivation, it builds your confidence (Self Energy), that a different life is possible.
Restoring Safety
If we are to integrate what has happened to us in a way we can really use. In a way that is actually healing. We must go at the speed of trust and the pace of your body. Everyone is different and the body holds no wrong answers.
I help you process fears around reconnecting to it, teach accessible mundane tools to regulate sensory overload and prevent autistic burnout, and support you in actually being able to rest and restore.
Transmuting Pain
Feeling our feelings is the way of it, this thing called healing from trauma. I help you learn how to by building up your capacity to hold yourself - your body, your parts and your reality, so you can do so on your own when panic, overwhelm, or dissociation strike.
I use many of the principles from Pete Walkers seminole work: Complex PTSD: from Surviving to Thriving, available with Spotify Premium. I highly recommend starting here. It is triggering fyi.
Shining Brightly
Add Most Autistic people, most ADHDers, most anyone whose brains a little or a lot squigly, spicy or queer, have been infiltrated by toxic societal conditions and unresolved intergenerational traumas that teach them to dim their light - their Autistic Joy.
But this is the medicine and the point of all this healing, really. To be your full authentic self in the ways and places and times that feel good to you. You are the authority of your body and life.
